.: Welcome to Green River

Now that you found your way here. Get the Hell out!!!! Nah just kidding. Welcome to my little space on the web. This space was created as the home page for The Green River Unreal server. The server is curently in testing mode as a new box to conatin it is being built. It is also been switched over to a linux OS and running in 64 bit. Enjoy!!

.: Green Rivers Origin

The servers name suggests it got it's origin from a known serial killer named Gary Ridgway. In fact Green River's origin began from a song written by a local band originating from York, PA called Hexbelt. The song called "1916" was a personal favorite of mine. If you'd like to hear the song click the "1916" link. Hexbelt allows their music to be freely shared and recorded. Be sure and visit Hexbelt's Internet Archive section if your interested in hearing their music.

Update!!! - The Return of Green River

After years of abuse and the constant threat of bodily harm I have decided to once again host the often talked about and misunderstood server of all times. The return of Green River Unreal server. You win this round SirFrag.

Currently it is running in test mode but once the testing is complete it will be the same piece of junk it once was. We lovingly refer to it as Patina.

.: History of Unreal - Taken from Wikipedia

Unreal is a first person shooter game developed by Epic Games and Digital Extremes and published by GT Interactive (now owned by Atari) in May 1998. It was powered by an original gameplay and computer engine that now bears the game's name, one that had been in development for over three years in founder Tim Sweeney's garage before the game was released. Since the release of Unreal, the franchise has had one sequel and two different series based on the Unreal universe. One official bonus pack, the Fusion Map Pack released by Epic Games, can be downloaded from the internet for free. Unreal Mission Pack I: Return to Na Pali was released June 1999, and added new missions to the single player campaign of Unreal. Unreal and Unreal Mission Pack I: Return to Na Pali would later be bundled together as Unreal Gold. Additionally, the games were updated to run on the Unreal Tournament version of the game engine. The final official patch upgrades the game to version 226b—the same version shipped with the Unreal Gold and Unreal Anthology packages. After a request to Epic Games the freeware source code was released resulting in an unofficial patch (227f as of October 2009) which corrects bugs and introduces new features. If you are interested in downloading this new patch visit Old Unreal and go to the download section.
